From the Northern Crew:
Hello from the Susquehannock Deer Crew,
Like previous weeks, this one flew by. We have been kept busy exploring and trying to catch deer in some beautiful country.
In one area, we have noticed a decent amount of corn going missing from our trap sites. Since the traps weren’t going off, we suspected it might be another critter. So, we put a game camera up to identify the thief.
We have nicknamed him Houdini, because we have images of him getting in and out of a trap with the door down.
The team has completed 19 different deer capture events. We also have some promising leads in some areas, with a family of deer visiting an area where we now have traps!

From the Southern Crew:
Hello all!
Another week in the books! We’ve kept busy trapping, scouting, and baiting Rothrock and Bald Eagle; and despite a somewhat tough trapping year, we’ve managed to keep morale up and take the bad with the good. There have been some beautiful sights this past week and we’ve all taken a few minutes to stop and smell the roses, so to speak.
With snow/rain in the forecast for Tuesday and Friday, we’re extremely hopeful that the deer that have been frequenting traps but not going in will take the plunge. Some experimentation with baits may also be a future project if we continue to have inquisitive but overly cautious deer. Fingers crossed for Friday!
