On average, you should be seeing an increase in buck movements – as in the ones you have never seen before are showing up on your cameras and the ones you may have watched all summer suddenly disappeared! They are now moving about 2 miles per day. I know my game cameras are showing more bucks. In fact, some days more bucks are on video than doe.
About 15%-20% of females are bred by the end of October These are primarily older doe because they tend to be in better body condition.
Buck movements are going to increase for the next week and then level off at about 3 miles per day.
In central Pennsylvania even many of the oaks have lost their leaves. I hope you have been in the woods and enjoying the fall weather!
